WCW >> News Report

Hey guys, it's me, Matt Tremblay, with this week's (July 1-7th) WCW News and rumors. Now, I'm sure we all know about this WCW invading WWF thing, and throughout the past week on WWF television they have been promoting it with WCW matches on WWF Television. This all started last Monday, July 3rd with a WCW World Title matchup between Booker T. and Buff Bagwell. The match ended in a no-contest, and Booker T. kept the WCW World Title. Then, last Thursday on WWF Smackdown, there was another WCW match, when Mike Awesome won the World Wrestling Federation Hardcore Title from Rhyno. On Sunday Night Heat this past Sunday there was a tag team match for the WCW Tag Team Championship as Chuck Palumbo and Sean O' Haire battled against Sean Stasiak and Chris Kanyon. Yet another awesome match, with Palumbo and O' Haire keeping the belts. The following night on Raw, WCW started to appear more and more throught WWF television's time. With Diamond Dallas Page and Shane McMahon beating the living hell out of the Undertaker, as well as Kurt Angle coming extremely close to winning the WCW World Title from Booker T, the show definitely promoted the whole Invasion idea. Also during the show, it was announced that Stephanie McMahon is the new owner of ECW and that WCW and ECW will both be invading WWF on July 29th live on Pay Per View. Now for some WCW tidbits: -Buff Bagwell was fired from WCW this past week -There is some resentment being shown by WWF wrestlers backstage regarding the new WCW additions to the company. This stems from the fact that some of the WCW guys have been getting paid since the end of March even though they haven’t been making the road trips until the past couple of weeks. Some have also been reportedly walking around backstage with an air of cockiness and superiority, with Booker T, Stacey Keibler, O’Haire, and Palumbo receiving the most heat. That's all for now! And one last thing. Rob will be taking over my duties the next couple weeks; I'll be in Florida on vacation.

Love, peace, and Chicken Grease! Matt Tremblay
